Fitting it yourself

Fitting it yourself is only an option if the MagnaFlow part supplied is a bolt on fitment, this can either be a direct fit cat-back or a catalytic converter.

Direct fit parts can be fitted by anyone with some DIY experience and the adequate tools and vehicle lifting and safety equipment; however we strongly recommend that this is carried out by a competent garage that has the necessary equipment to complete the task. These systems usually fit quite well and may require two people due to the weight of the original exhaust.

alt - cat-back refers to an exhaust system which bolts on after the catalytic converter to prevent any issues with emissions, as sensors are usually fitted before and after them.) ( alt – direct fit cat refers to a direct, bolt on replacement of an existing catalytic converter)

Professional installation

This is the preferred choice for most people, and highly recommended, garages will have all the tools to carry out the task. There are many reasons why a competent garage should carry out the work, you will have the confidence knowing that the unit is fitted securely other reasons are warranty, should a warranty issue arise, and the installer will be best equipped to handle any issues that may arise. Mufflers and silencers must be welded in place so this must be commissioned to a workshop that has the correct pipe bending and lifting/welding tools.
